About GramsInCup
GramsInCup is a free collection of simple, fast kitchen converters. We built it for home cooks and bakers who find a great recipe online and then discover it uses grams when they have cups, or cups when they have a scale.
What makes our converters different
Most quick conversions online treat every ingredient the same. That is fine for liquids, but it gives wrong answers for flour, sugar, butter and nuts, which all weigh different amounts per cup. Every conversion on GramsInCup uses a separate density for each ingredient, and shows results as the fractions you actually find on measuring cups and spoons.
How we choose our numbers
Ingredient weights are based on widely used baking references and food composition data, using the US customary cup (236.6 ml) and the spoon-and-level method for dry ingredients. Real ingredients vary a little by brand, humidity and how they are packed, so treat results as reliable kitchen guides rather than lab measurements.
